COVID-19 in the MENA Region: Facts and Findings

Introduction: Our study aims to assess the prevalence of COVID-19 in Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. It also examine various factors that have led unequal distribution confirmed cases among different MENA countries.
 Methodology: Data was retrieved from World Health Organization situation reports issued between January 29 June 5, 2020. included numbers cumulative cases, new deaths reported by countries. Similarly, we searched for relevant articles PubMed Medline.
 Results: A total 481,347 11,851 occurred region, accounting 7.37% 3.06% global respectively. Iran had highest number 34.1% 68.1% Together Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries accounted 52.2% 10.6% Egypt African Syria, Libya Yemen (countries at war) lowest cases. The region overall case fatality rate (CFR) estimated 2.46%. CFR (22.75%) Yemen, (0.07%) Qatar.
 Conclusions: wealth countries, lack sociopolitical stability, high undetected underreported some them resulted varied incidences related morbidity mortality.
